My partner and I are trying to get my credit up to a better rating. I know that if I’m added to his credit card as a ‘responsible party’ his good credit will help mine. What I can’t find the answer to is, will my poor credit effect his?

As long as he is the first on the card/loan, then the bank will mostly look at his credit for finance. This is why most everyone with bad credit needs a co-signer, to get decent interest rates.
