Will my poor credit effect my partners good credit if I’m added as a responsible party on his credit card?

My partner and I are trying to get my credit up to a better rating. I know that if I’m added to his credit card as a ‘responsible party’ his good credit will help mine. What I can’t find the answer to is, will my poor credit effect his?
