If you go to your personal bank you can take credit out, but you really don’t get any money….you just pay it right back. At the end of the loan, they give you the $ and the good credit rating, assuming you paid all of the payments on time….I can’t remember what its called though. Contact your bank. Usually it is only for $1000. or less.

Something that you should know in your situation:

Anytime that you apply for credit, regardless of whether you’re approved or not, your score lowers anywhere between 3-5 points, so it’s important that you get a card that you have the best chance of getting approved for.

With that said, you have to be cautious of companies out there that target people with bad credit to offer unsecured cards, only to charge with outrageous fees that absorb the available credit before the card is received.

My suggestion would be to get a secured credit card. Reason for these is that they’re the easiest credit cards to get mainly because a deposit which is used as collateral is required upfront in order to establish a credit line. For example, if you deposit $300, your credit line’s $300, with the ability to increase it by adding to the deposit. The deposit is sometimes linked to a savings account which earns interest while you’re building credit. At some point, you eventually get the deposit back as long as you’ve paid on time and kept the balance either low or paid off. These credit cards are far more respected that those “credit rebuilder” credit cards because the majority come from major banks which no one can determine the difference.

I’ve posted several links to some secured card companies out there, in my personal experience, Bank of America offers the best secured card overall.
