I pay my bills automatically online. I’ve never intentionally paid a bill late but because I pay them online, I’ve had, up until recently, a tendency not to open my bills, I just file them. As a result, I’ve not realized I had an open balance at times on credit cards and ended up paying it sometimes three months late. As I said, I open all of my mail now and make sure I’m up to date but can I do anything to make my credit rating better or will my careless ways be a stone around my neck for the rest of my life?
