Question by curious: My widowed mother has large credit card debt. When she passes away what will happen with this debt?
She is paying a monthly insurance fee on 2 cards that would pay off the debt in case of death. Is this necessary? The fees are quite high for her limited income..

It will be handled during the probate of her will…her creditors will have first pick on assets/money.
In terms of the insurance…it’s bad for her….but good for whoever might be listed as an heir in her will…
