I work for a financial institution. I have used both Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities. Both use trained professionals.to serve you.

In my opinion, the best one to try is CCCS (Consumer Credit Counseling Services). The web site is http://www.cccsstl.org. It is a non-profit organization, and is part of the Better Business Bureau. I’m looking to do the same as you, here soon. I was a debt collector for two years, and actually CCCS was the most commonly used by debtors/customers.

Go to care one credit solutions

http://www.careonecredit.com

They are a non-profit organization so the service is free.
They also have the website set up to where you can make changes (increase pymt to a creditor, delete a creditor, account summary, etc) There are too many features to name. You also recieve monthly statments from them letting you know what date your money left there hands and went to your creditor.

I have been with them for 2 years and counting and their customer service is great too. Gotta problem? They’ll fix it and email you a confirmation.

Good Luck

Start by looking around a good credit counseling company, and not become a victim of one of the various credit counseling scams that are prevalent today. Do not be misled by any ad that assures you quick fixes for your credit report. This is an impossible promise. Instead search for a honest company accredited to Consumer Credit Counseling Services. Then fix a meeting with a professional credit counselor, and apprise them about your debt situation. Do not omit anything as they will require the entire information to draw up re-payment plan according to your situation.
